About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Food & Beverage team in Dubai, as a Waiter/ess in our Chinese restaurant, you are critical in providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The role includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience meets our standards. The Waiter/ess will report to the F&B Supervisor.

As a Waiter/ess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pairing recommendations. Offer suggestions and answer questions to enhance the guest experience.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, communicate clearly to the kitchen and bar staff, and ensure all orders are delivered promptly and according to guest specifications.
  • Address special requests or dietary needs professionally and carefully, ensuring management and kitchen colleagues are informed of guest preferences or allergies.
  • Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, ensuring their enjoyable dining experience. Properly upsell services and products to guests, enhancing service and generating increased revenue.
