JOB SUMMARY: A Surveillance Operator is a person who monitors unusual activity or criminal activity through a screen monitor and reviews recorded footage for investigations requested from a client or command. Conducting surveillance patrols and efficient reporting. Communicate with security guards, clients, and emergency workers using various devices and software. They assign and monitor the movement of security personnel to different locations according to the client’s or company’s needs and the level of threat or disturbance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain strict confidentiality for the company when conducting observations and investigations.
- Conduct investigations and gather intel Management detect unlawful conduct or violations by employees or individuals, as directed by Management.
- Perform surveillance operations, such as stationery, mobile, and covert surveillance, using appropriate surveillance equipment.
- Prepare, maintain, and update daily surveillance reports.
- Be able to observe, identify, and document activity, and recognize and report unusual or suspicious behavior.
- Perform operations maintenance, such as routine maintenance, safety checks, and troubleshooting
- Reporting unusual activity to security staff, who may investigate further or act themselves.
- Operating keypads or computer systems that allow dispatchers to communicate with police or other emergency responders.
- Coordinating with security officers who patrol commercial or residential areas to ensure they are performing their duties efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinating with police, fire department, and other emergency response teams to ensure appropriate response is made to emergency situations.
- Taking reports regarding suspicious activity or other security concerns from clients or employees and forwarding them to security staff for investigation.
- Ensures all reports and correspondence are properly completed in a timely manner throughout the Department.
- Answers telephones using the proper telephone etiquette and dispatches to the appropriate departments.
