Job Summary

Join our dynamic sports community as a Soccer Referee, where your enthusiasm for the game and commitment to fair play will inspire our young players. In this paid position, you will be responsible for officiating soccer matches for children ages 3 to 12 years old. Your energetic presence and clear communication will help foster a positive sporting experience while upholding the rules and spirit of the game.

Schedule & Commitment

• Availability: Every Saturday.
• Game Volume: Must be able to officiate 4 to 5 youth games back-to-back.
• Ages: Youth athletes ranging from 3 to 12 years old.

Duties

• Enforce Game Rules: Make prompt and fair decisions on fouls, goals, and player conduct. For our youngest divisions (ages 3–6), this includes a focus on “on-field teaching” and basic rule explanation.
• Manage Game Flow: Start, stop, and signal plays clearly to players and spectators.
• Promote Sportsmanship: Monitor player behavior and address conflicts swiftly using effective conflict management skills to keep the environment positive.
• Confident Communication: Communicate rules and decisions confidently to players, coaches, and spectators to ensure understanding and respect.
• Ensure Safety: Strictly follow safety protocols, ensuring the field and play remain safe for all children.
• Documentation: Record game scores and any incidents accurately for league documentation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the Game: Prior experience or knowledge in soccer coaching or officiating is preferred but not required; we will provide training.
• Communication: Strong skills to clearly convey decisions and manage interactions with players, coaches, and spectators.
• Youth-Focused: Experience working with children (ages 3–12) is a major plus; you must demonstrate patience and understanding.
• Energy & Attitude: A passion for soccer and a lively, energetic attitude. You are a role model on the field!
• Physicality: Ability to be active and on your feet for the duration of a 4 to 5-game shift.
• Reliability: Must have dependable transportation to our Huber Heights locations.
