Sitework Foreman Job Description
Reports To: Jobsite Superintendent/Vice President Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Site Work Foreman is a working foreman responsible for supervising and participating in daily site work operations, including but not limited to Earthwork, Site Utilities, and Footers/Foundations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role oversees crews, equipment, materials, and the effective use of GPS-guided construction technology.
Key Responsibilities
· Follow project scope of work, job specifications, plans, staking, and GPS control models.
· Understand, operate, and oversee the use of GPS-guided equipment (dozers, excavators, graders).
· Coordinate manpower, equipment, and sequencing to meet schedules and production goals.
· Supervise, train, and mentor team members, monitor attendance, productivity, and quality.
· Enforce OSHA, MSHA, and company safety policies; conduct toolbox talks.
· Interpret GPS models, ensure calibration accuracy, and coordinate updates with management.
· Verify equipment condition, document issues, and ensure proper maintenance.
· Submit accurate daily reports, time sheets, and progress updates.
Qualifications
· Minimum 10 years of experience in site work or heavy civil construction.
· Proven experience leading crews and coordinating equipment.
· Working knowledge of GPS machine control systems.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Valid driver’s license: Class A CDL and medical card preferred or required.
· OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred.
