Side Boom Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Side Boom Operator to support pipeline construction, lifting, and pipe-laying operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely handling side boom equipment during pipeline installation and related heavy lifting activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate side boom equipment safely and efficiently during pipeline construction activities.
• Lift, position, transport, and lower pipes according to project requirements.
• Work closely with welders, riggers, supervisors, and pipeline crews.
• Follow approved lifting plans and safe work procedures.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and pre-operational checks.
• Monitor load stability and ensure safe lifting operations.
• Maintain equipment logs and inspection records.
• Identify and report equipment defects and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with lifting regulations, project specifications, and HSE standards.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating Side Boom equipment.
• Valid operator certification or license.
• Experience in pipeline construction projects is required.
• Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging practices, and load handling procedures.
• Familiarity with construction and oil & gas industry safety standards.
• Ability to interpret lifting plans and operational instructions.
• GCC experience is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
