We are hiring a Shop Helper to support daily production and shop operations in a manufacturing environment. We are looking for someone who can arrive at work on time every day, maintain a strong work ethic, and be willing to learn. This position is responsible for pulling parts from the oxy-fuel/plasma table, labeling, cleaning, and palletizing them by job number. The Shop Helper will also assist with machine shop maintenance and with loading and unloading trucks.

Responsibilities

• Pull cut parts from the oxy-fuel/plasma table safely and efficiently
• Label parts clearly and accurately by job number
• Clean parts and prepare them for the next stage of production
• Organize and palletize parts by job number
• Assist with machine shop maintenance and upkeep
• Load and unload trucks safely
• Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the shop as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety rules and PPE requirements
• Report damaged materials, incorrect parts, or safety concerns to supervision
• Support production flow by keeping materials organized and staged properly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work safely in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to read job numbers, labels, and basic work instructions accurately
• Ability to stay organized and keep parts separated by job
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and work on your feet for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to assist in different areas of the shop as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus
• Basic knowledge of shop safety practices preferred
