Duties
- Monitor premises using CCTV systems and conduct regular surveillance to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
- Control access points by verifying identification and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies by implementing conflict management protocols and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Conduct patrols of the facility to identify hazards, ensure to safety protocols are followed, and prevent theft or vandalism
- Perform first aid and CPR when needed to assist injured individuals until professional help arrives
- Manage loss prevention efforts by observing behaviors that could indicate theft or misconduct
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, patrols, access logs, and surveillance footage for reporting and review purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience in security roles or law enforcement with a strong understanding of security procedures and protocols
- Certifications in CPR and first aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Knowledge of CCTV operation, surveillance techniques, and loss prevention strategies
- Ability to handle conflict effectively through conflict management skills and maintain composure under pressure
- Background in military service or law enforcement is a plus, demonstrating discipline and situational awareness
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and interaction with team members and the public
- Physical fitness to perform patrols, respond quickly to incidents, and stand or walk for extended periods
