Retail Sales Associate

Pay: $18-$22 per hour

We’re hiring 2 Part-Time Retail Sales Associates to start immediately.

Maine Pottery Company has been a family-owned business for over 42 years. We represent about 70+ artists and sell handmade pottery and artisan work across three galleries in midcoast Maine. Our Portland gallery sits right on Commercial Street on the waterfront — great views, fantastic sea breeze in the summer, and a steady flow of locals and visitors who love beautiful, handmade things.

We’re looking for two people to join our small Portland team. If you’re personable, reliable, and genuinely enjoy connecting with people, we want to talk to you. Sales experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right person. Attitude matters more than a resume here.

What you’ll do:

• Welcome customers and help them find pieces they love
• Share the stories behind our artists and their work
• Handle sales and POS/register transactions
• Restock, merchandise, and keep the gallery looking sharp
• Help with cleaning and general store upkeep
• Open and/or close the store as needed

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who’s naturally warm, engaging, and reliable
• Available to work at least one weekend day each week
• Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting throughout a shift
• Sales or customer service experience is great but not required — we train
