Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Concierge Department in Dubai, the Room Attendant is responsible to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and attractiveness of guest rooms and adjacent areas in accordance with Mandarin Oriental’s high standards. Room Attendant reports to Housekeeping Supervisor.
As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Clean and prepare guest rooms and bathrooms according to Mandarin Oriental standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, restocking amenities, and conducting a final room inspection.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of furniture, fixtures, minibars, and supply areas, and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Remove trash and recyclables in accordance with hotel guidelines and ensure all areas remain tidy and presentable.
- Support team operations through effective shift handovers, collaboration with colleagues, and active participation in training and development initiatives.
- Engage warmly and professionally with guests, addressing their needs, anticipating requests, and personalizing service to exceed expectations.
- Uphold the highest service standards by delivering thoughtful touches, respecting guest privacy, and resolving issues promptly and empathetically.
As a Room Attendant, we expect from you:
- Senior High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Vocational Diploma in Hospitality or related field is a plus.
- At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel environment; prior experience in the Middle East or a hotel pre-opening is an advantage.
- Proficient in housekeeping systems such as Actabl/Alice, Oracle, IBS, and Microsoft Office, with strong knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication in English is essential; additional language skills, especially Arabic, are an advantage.
- Physically capable of demanding tasks and standing for long periods, with a professional appearance, flexibility for varied shifts, and strong problem-solving abilities.
