Housekeeping Room Attendant

Position Purpose
Responsible for routine cleaning and servicing of guestrooms and bath. Ensuring the general appearance of the guestroom is not only hygienic but that it is also well decorated to make the room look attractive and very appealing to the guests.
Essential Job Functions
Functions

  • Clean assigned work area, including but not limited to emptying trash baskets, replacing trash liners, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and straightening furniture.
  • Replace all damaged and soiled bedspreads and linens. Remove used linens and place clean linens on beds in guest rooms.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms including bathtubs, sinks, toilets, mirrors, tiles, and floors.
  • Remove and replenish used and damaged supplies and amenities including, but not limited to shampoo, soap, note pads, envelopes, and water.
  • Report all items recovered to lost and found and follow lost and found procedures. Report any problems to appropriate personnel. Follow up to ensure correction of problem. Clean vacuum after use.
  • Meet brand requirements for room set up for amenities especially VIP floors/villas.
  • Comply with supervisor’s directions to ensure guest and staff satisfaction.
  • Attend to guests’ requests or complaints when possible. When inappropriate inform supervisor or appropriate person of request and follow up to ensure it was resolved.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area. Keep all carts, mobile suppliers, and/or props away from walls to avoid marks or damage. Keep carts, mobile suppliers, and/or baskets neat, clean and well-organized.
  • Keep all guest information confidential including keeping rooming lists out of public view or access.
  • Report all No Show Rooms and DND signs.
  • Ensure proper endorsement of task assignments and floor keys.
  • Follow recycling procedure and ensure to separate items as required.
  • Follow the ABC’s of Housekeeping guidelines.
  • Use proper PPE’s and ensure adequate safety and protection when handling chemicals.

Customer Service

  • Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
  • Respond in a courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.

Other

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Attending training sessions set out by the Westin Resort to ensure continued personal development.
