Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with enthusiasm and genuine friendliness as they arrive, making them feel valued from the moment they walk in
  • Manage waitlist & reservations, and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Verona and Yelp Waitlist app.
  • Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant, wait times, or special events while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
  • Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest service, supporting a seamless dining experience
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, including menus and reservation logs
  • Assist guests with special requests or accommodations, demonstrating strong guest relations skills
  • Support team members during busy periods by providing courteous assistance and fostering a hospitable environment

Experience

  • Prior host/hostess experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests, team members, and management
  • Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant workflows enhances your ability to excel in this role
  • Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
  • Background in customer service or guest relations roles, including hotel or hospitality experience, is highly valued
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
  • Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse guests
