LOCATION: Amarillo, TX

PAY: $17/hr

SUMMARY: Our Production Assistant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations within our manufacturing shop and steel yard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in loading and unloading material from machines.
• Assist operators and drivers in the manufacturing shop and yard.
• Handle and transport materials and equipment within the facility.
• Use power tools and machinery when needed.
• Set out or put away tools when needed.
• Clean up manufacturing areas free of debris, dirt, and hazardous material.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
• Ability for cross training in other areas of the shop.
• Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
• Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Frequently required to talk or hear.
• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
• The employee mustbe able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
