We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Procurement Officer – FMCG to manage the sourcing and purchasing of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), ensuring the right products are procured at competitive prices while maintaining quality, availability, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, excellent market knowledge, and experience in inventory planning within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure FMCG products from local and international suppliers.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely processing of procurement transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to maintain optimal stock availability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and distributors.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and product availability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining required quality standards.
- Resolve supplier issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, shortages, and invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate invoice reconciliation and timely payments.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, supplier databases, and purchasing reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare regular procurement reports, spending analysis, and supplier performance metrics for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in the FMCG industry is required.
- Strong knowledge of FMCG products, supply chain operations, and inventory management.
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP/procurement systems.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
