Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy and speed
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and assisting with merchandise selection
• Conduct product demos to showcase new equipment, apparel, or accessories, highlighting features and benefits to customers
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring merchandise is well-presented and accessible
• Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that promote sales and seasonal themes
• Handle cash transactions with proper cash handling procedures and maintain accurate cash register records
• Support supervising staff by overseeing daily shop operations during shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and customer satisfaction

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
• Previous supervising or leadership experience in retail or hospitality environments
• Ability to perform retail math for pricing, discounts, and inventory management
• Strong communication skills for engaging customers clearly and professionally in multiple languages (bilingual skills are a plus)
• Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
• Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays that attract attention
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries courteously over the phone
• Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial but not required
• Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Basic math skills necessary for daily retail tasks such as balancing registers and calculating totals
