Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to support the cooking team
- Assist with menu planning by organizing ingredients and ensuring availability for daily specials and regular menu items
- Support cooking activities by setting up stations, measuring ingredients, and following recipes accurately
- Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Help with food presentation and plating to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and coordinating meal assembly
- Keep the kitchen organized by cleaning workstations, storing supplies properly, and managing inventory levels
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly valued for understanding special dietary needs
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments such as restaurants or catering operations
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
