Full job description

The Pool Server provides courteous and efficient food and beverage service to guests at the pool, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. This role directly impacts guest satisfaction, revenue from food and beverage sales, and the overall reputation of the hotel.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

  • Maintain complete knowledge of beverage lists, menu items, preparation methods, portion sizes, presentation, and promotions.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly in compliance with state liquor regulations, including verifying guest age and preventing service to intoxicated individuals.
  • Take food and beverage orders, input them accurately into the POS system, and ensure orders are verified by the kitchen.
  • Serve all food courses and drinks in accordance with departmental standards, including garnishes and presentation.
  • Assist in providing pool amenities, maintain knowledge of pool capacity, hours of operation, seating/station numbers, and dress code.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally using instant pacification procedures to ensure satisfaction.
  • Remove soiled items, clean, and reset tables/pool areas promptly.
  • Process guest payments and adhere to cash handling and credit policies.
  • Complete all closing reports, collect tips, and report to the supervisor.
  • Be familiar with hotel services, features, and local attractions to accurately respond to guest inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a server.
  • Experience in food and beverage service in a club, restaurant, or hotel setting preferred.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Must meet the minimum state age for serving alcohol.
  • Food Handling Certificate and TIPS Training Certificate required.
