Position Summary
The Plant Accountant is responsible for managing key accounting functions at the plant level within a larger corporate group. This role ensures accurate inventory costing, oversees accounts receivable activities, manages billing and invoicing processes, supports accounts payable operations, and assists with customer service requests related to financial transactions. The Plant Accountant works closely with operations, procurement, customer service, and the Group Controller to ensure financial accuracy, timely reporting, and efficient transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Costing & Financial Accuracy
· Apply and maintain accurate cost allocations for inventory receipts, including raw materials, components, and finished goods.
· Ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately in the ERP system and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
· Collaborate with operations and procurement to ensure proper costing and documentation for incoming inventory.
· Support periodic inventory counts and assist with inventory reconciliation and variance analysis.
Accounts Receivable and Billing Management
· Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including monitoring customer balances and collections.
· Reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
· Follow up on overdue invoices and communicate with customers to resolve payment issues.
· Generate accurate customer invoices in accordance with contractual terms and company policies.
· Resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with sales, operations, and customer service teams.
