Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Engineering Department, the Painter is responsible for operating maintaining and repairing all aspects of the hotel’s woodwork and furniture in accordance with Emirates Palace standards to achieve optimum product quality at all times. The Painter reports to the Assistant Manager – Maintenance
As a Painter, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide guidance, training, and assistance to the painting team, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and materials
- Estimate, plan, and prioritize work requirements based on operational needs
- Carry out painting and polishing of furniture, wooden or gypsum panels, false ceilings, and decorative wooden doors
- Perform repair and repainting of HOH metal doors and frames
- Maintain gold leaf and decorative works in the lobby and guest areas
- Conduct inspections and carry out regular maintenance of public areas
- Ensure plant rooms, workshops, and related areas are kept clean and tidy
- Observe prescribed safety standards and help maintain safe working conditions for self and others
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
- Interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized services for functions and events
- Adhere to Emirates Palace Employee Handbook, Mandarin Oriental policies and procedures, and all safety/security instructions
- Follow supervisors’ instructions and complete tasks in line with job requirements
- Ensure uniforms are clean and in good condition, maintaining a professional and tidy appearance at all times
As a Painter, we expect from you:
- Previous experience in the same role in luxury property, resort experience is a plus
- Experience with different surfaces (wood, metal, gypsum, walls, ceilings)
- Knowledge of decorative painting, polishing, touch-up, and finishing techniques
- Technical certification or vocational training in painting, polishing, or finishing is an advantage
