Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, repairing holes, and removing old paint or finishes.
Mix, match, and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces (walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and furniture).
Perform decorative, faux, or specialty finishes as required for hotel standards and design specifications.
Handle project planning and preparation efficiently, including estimating materials, time, and labor requirements.
Protect surrounding areas and furniture using drop cloths, masking, or plastic coverings to prevent paint splatter or damage.
Move or cover furniture and equipment as needed to access work areas.
Remove and reinstall fixtures such as door knobs, light switch covers, and signage during projects.
Apply and install vinyl wall coverings when required.
Perform basic woodworking tasks such as repairing, refinishing, or fabricating wooden surfaces and fixtures; apply stains and sealants to achieve desired finishes.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Perform regular inspections of painted surfaces and complete touch-ups or repairs as necessary.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to support requests and special projects.
Ensure all work meets brand standards and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience painting.
Previous experience with wallpaper and vinyl
Able to lift 50lbs
Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)Good basic math skills
Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Available to work weekends and holidays.
