POSITIONSUMMARY

Working under the direction of the Distribution Center Manager the successful candidate will have responsibility for using a semi-trailer to transport raw materials, components and finished goods between the company’s production facility, distribution center and components warehouse; all three facilities are located in Hernando, MS. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company car care products are accurately picked, staged, labeled and shipped to our customer on time and according to quality specifications.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Picking/shipping orders of chemical products that are packaged in cases, pails and drums.
  • Receiving orders of chemical raw materials and packaging.
  • Reporting production and quality issues by recording data and reporting unresolved issues to the supervisor.
  • Achieving or surpassing established quality standards.
  • Documenting distribution and shipping processes by completing logs, calculating statistics, and noting the receipt, flow and return of materials.
  • Completing delivery, inspection, downtime and safety reports.
  • Contribute to maintaining a culture committed to the safety of its employees; reporting unsafe acts and conditions to the appropriate Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment at the employee’s assigned work station(s).
  • Other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazmat Endorsement.
  • Willingness and ability to drive a Class A vehicle and, for most deliveries, to load and unload 55-gallon drums.
  • Fork truck and rider jack experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience operating a semi-trailer either locally or over the road (OTR). Basic computer skills; the ability and willingness to learn shipping computer processes.
  • Willingness to learn and abide by chemical hygiene rules and DOT shipping regulations.
  • A good driving record.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to read gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of FMCSA and OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities to meet deadlines on schedule.
  • Ability to influence others and work within cross-functional teams to make responsible decisions.
  • Possess a high tolerance of ambiguity and flexibility with respect to job functions and working hours in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
