Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with strong experience in meal preparation and safe food handling.

As a Lead Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly, delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards, instructing new staff in proper food prep/storage/production, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining a positive, team-oriented working atmosphere with exceptional communication skills.

This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively with others.

Duties

  • Efficiently prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, according to customer specifications and with proper portions, ingredients, and presentation techniques .
  • Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
  • Maintain well-stocked stations with supplies for maximum productivity.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling techniques.
  • Monitor inventory levels of kitchen items and communicate needs.
  • Instruct new staff as needed in proper food preparation, storage, use of kitchen equipment and sanitation.
  • Participate in catering events as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or fine dining setting is required.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
  • Experience in catering is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong knife skills and ability to work with various cooking methods.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Serve Safe certification preferred.
