The Role:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the daily cleaning, processing, and handling of hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry. This role ensures all laundry is cleaned to hotel standards, delivered on time, and handled safely and efficiently. The attendant supports smooth laundry operations by maintaining equipment, following procedures, and keeping the work area clean and organized.

Job Duties:

Operational Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry following established procedures.
  • Inspect all items for stains, damage, and cleanliness; report missing or damaged items to the Laundry Supervisor.
  • Ensure proper use and dosage of chemicals, detergents, and equipment according to safety and brand standards.
  • Load and unload laundry machines safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain workflow to meet daily production targets and hotel operational needs.
  • Assist in handling guest laundry, including tagging, washing, drying, pressing, and packaging.
  • Deliver processed linens to designated storage areas or floors as directed.
  • Follow proper departmental standards, policies and procedures.

Workplace Cleanliness & Safety

  • Keep all laundry areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including chemical-handling and equipment safety procedures.
  • Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety hazards promptly to the Laundry Supervisor or Manager.
  • Participate in safety training, including emergency and chemical-handling procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
