Job Summary
The Landscape Helper assists landscape technicians, gardeners, and supervisors in carrying out landscaping, planting, irrigation, and general site maintenance activities. The role involves manual labor, site preparation, material handling, and supporting the team in maintaining landscape areas to the required quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLandscape Maintenance & Construction
- Assist in planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and ground cover plants.
- Support landscaping activities including soil preparation, leveling, mulching, and turf installation.
- Assist with lawn maintenance, watering, weeding, pruning, and trimming activities.
- Help install and maintain irrigation systems under supervision.
- Load, unload, and transport landscape materials, tools, and equipment.
- Collect and dispose of garden waste, debris, and unwanted materials.
Site Operations
- Prepare work areas before landscaping activities commence.
- Assist in digging trenches, holes, and other excavation work required for landscaping and irrigation works.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and landscape technicians to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Equipment & Safety
- Use hand tools and basic landscaping equipment safely and responsibly.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment after use.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
General Duties
- Assist with loading and unloading plants, fertilizers, soil, and landscaping materials.
- Support emergency maintenance and special landscaping projects when required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Foreman.
Qualifications
- No formal education required; basic literacy is an advantage.
- Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, construction, or outdoor labor is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
