LABORER – Barron Center – Linen Services
Full-time – 40 hours per week. Weekly schedule: Saturday-Tuesday 4:00 AM-2:30 PM.

The Barron Center is owned and operated by the City of Portland and is Maine’s largest skilled nursing facility. Now is your chance to have the job you always wanted – being a part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of the residents of the Barron Center.

Duties may include

  • Distributing clean linen within the facility and to other facilities within the City.
  • Rubbish removal.
  • Loading and unloading commercial washers and dryers.
  • Folding and sorting linen.
  • Picking up soiled linen, hanging and delivering personal laundry.
  • The Laborer is a part of our winter operations team, and snow removal duties are required seasonally.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing over 50 lbs. for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in varied temperature conditions.
  • Must possess a valid Maine Class C driver’s license.
  • Must be able to follow oral and simple written instructions.

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory criminal conviction background check and a pre-employment physical exam.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, Labor & Trades (Grade 11) – Starting at $20.55 – $23.08/hr.
