Full job description
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring all utensils, equipment, and workspaces are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, and waste areas
- Handle waste disposal according to hygiene and safety standards
- Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks when required
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role preferred
- Knowledge of basic hygiene and food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
- Team player with a positive attitude
