Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in Japanese cuisine, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in creating delicious and visually appealing sushi dishes that delight our customers.

Duties

  • Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continually enhance menu offerings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques related to sushi preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various types of fish and seafood.
  • A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, with creativity in meal presentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
