KITCHEN HELPER – REGULAR PART-TIME

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The primary focus of this position is to assist the Kitchen Food Manager in preparing meal trays, serving food, maintaining kitchen work areas in a neat and organized manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This listing is representative of the duties and responsibilities of the position, but is not to be construed as all inclusive:

  • Fills individual serving cartons with portions of various foods and condiments such as cream, jams and sauces.
  • Serves salads, vegetables, meat and breads; ladles soup and sauces; portions desserts; and fills beverage cups and glasses as indicated.
  • Replenishes foods at serving stations.
  • Brews coffee and tea.
  • Operates heat seal machine.
  • Monitor food temperatures using thermometers.
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work stations. Washes dishes and workables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
  • Segregates and removes trash and places it in designated containers.
  • Scrubs and polishes counters, steam tables and other equipment.
  • Stocks supply room with supplies and food.
  • Labels packaging for distribution to homebound seniors.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Kitchen Manager or Program Director.
