Full job description
A restaurant cleaner’s duties involve maintaining hygiene by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning restrooms, and managing trash, ensuring compliance with health codes in dining, kitchen, and prep areas. They also restock supplies, perform deep cleaning of equipment, handle spills, and often work during off-peak hours (before/after shifts) to keep the restaurant spotless for staff and customers. Core Responsibilities
- Floor Care: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors in all areas (dining, kitchen, restrooms).
- Surface Sanitization: Wiping down tables, counters, kitchen equipment, and high-touch points with approved sanitizers.
- Waste Management: Emptying trash receptacles and managing recycling, ensuring proper disposal.
- Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking toiletries (soap, paper towels).
- Supply Management: Keeping cleaning supplies stocked and reporting low inventory.
- Equipment Cleaning: Deep cleaning kitchen appliances, dishwashers, and food prep surfaces.
Additional Duties
- Dining Area Prep: Setting tables, restocking condiments, and general tidying during service.
- Deep Cleaning: Performing periodic deep cleaning of hard-to-reach areas and extraction systems.
- Safety Compliance: Following strict safety and sanitation protocols (e.g., handling chemicals).
- Reporting: Alerting management to maintenance issues, defects, or hazards.
