Job Summary
A Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s building, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests and staff. The role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across guest rooms and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, hallways, lobby areas, and hotel facilities.
- Fix issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
- Inspect hotel facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Repair or replace lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and small electrical equipment.
- Address plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, and toilet repairs.
- Maintain safety systems including fire alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency lighting.
- Keep maintenance logs and report major repair needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
Requirements & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
- Experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or hotel maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in different areas of the hotel.
- Good communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
Working Conditions
- May require weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts.
- Work involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment.
- Exposure to tools, machinery, and maintenance materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge in HVAC, electrical work, or building maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license required.
