Job Summary

A Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s building, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests and staff. The role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across guest rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, hallways, lobby areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Fix issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
  • Inspect hotel facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Repair or replace lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and small electrical equipment.
  • Address plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, and toilet repairs.
  • Maintain safety systems including fire alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency lighting.
  • Keep maintenance logs and report major repair needs to management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

Requirements & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • Experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or hotel maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in different areas of the hotel.
  • Good communication skills to interact with guests and staff.

Working Conditions

  • May require weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts.
  • Work involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment.
  • Exposure to tools, machinery, and maintenance materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in HVAC, electrical work, or building maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
