Job Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and comfortable guest rooms, laundry facilities, and public areas of the hotel. This position ensures that all areas meet hotel cleanliness and safety standards to provide a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room Cleaning

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
  • Make beds and replace linens and towels.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Dust furniture, lamps, appliances, and surfaces.
  • Clean mirrors, windows, and glass surfaces.
  • Restock room supplies such as toiletries, towels, tissues, and coffee items.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards.

Laundry Duties

  • Collect used linens, towels, and bedding from guest rooms.
  • Sort laundry by type, color, and fabric.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers according to hotel procedures.
  • Fold clean towels, sheets, pillowcases, and other linens.
  • Organize and store clean laundry in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and machines.
  • Report equipment problems to supervisors.
