CFS Transportation provides non-emergency medical transportation for seniors and individuals with medical needs throughout San Diego County. We are currently hiring full-time drivers in National City, who are reliable, compassionate, and ready to serve their community.
This position requires availability Monday–Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
As a CFS NEMT Driver, your day will begin with a safety check of your vehicle and equipment. You’ll follow scheduled routes using Routing Software and GPS. You will stay in contact with dispatch through a company-provided phone or tablet. Your main responsibility is to safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments. This includes helping passengers in and out of the vehicle, assisting with mobility devices, and operating a wheelchair lift when needed.
Drivers at CFS are independent, dependable, and focused on providing great customer service and professionalism. You’ll be helping people get to the care they need while creating a positive experience for every passenger.
To be eligible for this position, you must be 21 years or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S. You must have a valid California Class C driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience in California. A clean driving record is required. All drivers must pass a criminal background check, a DOT-level physical exam, a TB Skin test, and a drug screening (which includes testing for marijuana).
The job requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, and the ability to kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods. You must be able to follow GPS navigation, use a mobile apps on a tablet, and maintain a professional and courteous attitude with passengers and staff. Being a team player while also working independently is important in this role.
Pay for this position starts at $19.00 per hour, NEMT drivers receive a $1.00 pay increase annually (Cap at $22.00 per hour).
