Job Title: Handyman / Laborer

Overview
CPR is seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman/Laborer to join our growing team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, versatile trade skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving residential and commercial properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction.

This is a contract (1099) position, meaning you will operate as an independent contractor responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Inspect buildings, units, and equipment to identify maintenance issues and address them promptly
  • Assist with installation and assembly of fixtures, appliances, cabinetry, and other components
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems using tools such as an ohmmeter
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times
  • Work with team members and project managers to complete jobs on schedule
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards on every project

Requirements

  • Proven experience in handyman work, construction, or general labor
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
  • Strong physical stamina (lifting, standing, climbing, and repetitive tasks required)
  • Solid understanding of general maintenance and repair techniques
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Reliable transportation (truck/van preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

Compensation & Work Structure

  • 1099 Independent Contractor Position (NOT W-2)
