Job Description

Handyman

Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel, including minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work.
Repair or replace fixtures such as doors, windows, furniture, and cabinetry to maintain a high standard of guest areas.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
Conduct regular inspections of public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.
Assist with setting up event spaces, moving furniture, and other tasks to support hotel operations.
Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for repair tasks.
Follow hotel safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
Coordinate with specialized contractors for major repairs or projects outside the handyman’s expertise.
Support preventive maintenance efforts to minimize breakdowns and ensure the smooth running of hotel facilities.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in maintenance-related trades is a plus
Proven experience in general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and basic electrical work
Basic knowledge of hotel facilities and maintenance standards preferred
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor repair issues independently
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment
Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with hotel departments
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed
Basic understanding of safety and health regulations relevant to hospitality settings
