At Courtyard Somerset, our front desk teams help bring living hospitality to life every day through genuine service, professionalism, and creating memorable guest experiences from the moment guests walk through the door.
The day often begins with a shift handoff and team check-in:
Reviewing arrivals, departures, VIP guests, special requests, and preparing for a successful day at the hotel.
Throughout the shift, front desk agents:
- Welcome and check guests in and out
- Assist with reservations and guest requests
- Answer phones and respond to questions
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care
- Communicate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to keep operations running smoothly
- Deliver service that aligns with brand standards and Newport Hospitality expectations
Success at the front desk comes from teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude. Strong attendance, punctuality, communication, and a willingness to support fellow team members all play a major role in keeping the hotel running successfully.
No two days are ever the same in hospitality. One moment may involve helping a family check in for vacation, while the next may involve assisting a tired traveler after a long flight or supporting the team during a busy sold-out night.
Front desk agents are often the first and last impression guests have of the hotel, making the role both fast-paced and rewarding for those who enjoy helping people and creating positive experiences.
