Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Sales, Group Direct and Sales Operations Manager, the Lead Groups & Meeting Specialist will act as a liaison for meeting inquiries for the Sonesta Hotels Managed and Franchised estate from meeting planners, Event & Catering Customers and online inquiry channels, and ensure a high standard of fulfilling requests with accuracy and urgency.
The role is based on our Shared Services Center in Orlando, FL. This role will be “hands-on”, require “out of the box” thinking and will empower the Group Center Agent to meet revenue targets for the Sonesta Hotels Stakeholders, whilst creating a phenomenal service experience for the customer.
Job Description
Groups & Meetings Specialist s primary role is to respond to all incoming leads in a timely manner while supporting and selling the rates and strategies as outlined by the Hotel.
- Responds to all leads coming in via telephone or e-mail
- Serves as a liaison between the Hotel and the customer
- Partners with the Hotel; acts as extension of the sales team
- Works closely with Revenue Management teams, Hotel Operations team and Marketing team to convert groups and meetings opportunities.
- Supports Sonesta Sales organization’s efforts by participating in cross-functional projects.
- Provides hotel information, promotion, and pricing information by clarifying customer requests, selecting appropriate information, forwarding information, and answering questions.
- Reviews, verifies and logs all relevant communications of customers’ needs.
- Proactively requests customer needs, handles objections and converts groups and meetings opportunities through proposals and contract management.
- Ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
