Summary

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Bakery Sales Associate to join our Front-of-House team! As the first point of contact, you’ll create a positive and welcoming experience for every guest while showcasing our delicious baked goods.

AppleCore’s Bake Shoppe is hiring 2 part-time FOH Associates (up to 30 hrs/week). Must be available Tuesday–Saturday, 8AM–1PM or 1PM–6PM.

What You’ll Do:

• Greet and engage guests warmly.
• Maintain strong product knowledge to educate guests on menu items including dietary information (e.g. vegan, gluten-free), distinction, size and flavor profile options, pricing, special promotions, and complimentary retail merchandise.
• Fulfill orders for baked goods, ice cream, beverages, and merchandise.
• Promote and upsell bakery items and seasonal specials.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Ensure display cases are stocked and visually appealing.
• Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Year-round availability and flexibility to work both day and evening shifts — this role is not suitable for high school students
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Exhibits high energy and strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., bakery supplies).
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, or the food industry is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation to Columbia, MD
• Available up to 30 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
