Front Desk Host

Job Summary:

The Front Desk Host is a key member of the Front Office Team. The Front Desk host is the first point of contact a guest has with the hotel and is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service and that company standards are met and maintained at all times. The ideal candidate will be charismatic, courteous, reliable and enthusiastic about helping people. The host must be able to interact with guests while utilizing available resources to provide a phenomenal and memorable guest experience.

Key Qualifications:

Hospitality experience with a strong knowledge of Reno and the surrounding areas

Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic manner while exhibiting professionalism and consistent enthusiasm

Excellent communication, guest service and time management skills

Able to organize plan ahead and manage workload effectively

Ability to multitask effectively in an innovative, fast-paced environment

Experience using Opera/Micros preferred

Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office

College or University degree in Hospitality/Customer Service or experience in a guest services role preferred

Description:

As a Front Desk Host, you will handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and in a professional manner, informing guests of hotel’s facilities at time of registration, engage each guest as a unique individual and listen attentively to their requests, handle guest issues, complaints, and requests and pro-actively resolve in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and hotel, demonstrate proper telephone etiquette, transferring of calls, and taking accurate messages for guests and fellow employees, according to company standards, make reservations over the phone and in person and ensure all aspects of the room reservation procedures are followed, including bookings, conformation and cancelation policies, be responsible for a cash float throughout your shift and ensuring all floats balance correctly at the end of shift, have knowledge of in-house groups, negotiated rate, and packages, listen to guest complaints or concerns and resolving their issue in a timely manner, coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests, keep work area neat and tidy, make sure your uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and are in accordance with The Whitney Peak Hotel Grooming policy.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
