Full job description

Front Desk Attendant (Transitional Role) / Future Host – Lester’s

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-time

About The Douglas

The Douglas is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Savannah, offering 22 thoughtfully restored guest rooms, a private hotel bar, and an intimate atmosphere where charm, comfort, and design come together seamlessly. Our team is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences through attention to detail, warm hospitality, and a commitment to quality in every corner of the property.

Guests come to The Douglas for a slower rhythm, thoughtful service, and a sense of being genuinely cared for. As a member of our team, you play an essential role in shaping that experience.

About This Role

We are hiring immediately for a full-time Front Desk Attendant who will begin in a temporary front desk capacity for approximately two months while a team member is on leave. Following this period, this role will transition into a full-time Host position at Lester’s, our new seafood forward restaurant opening this spring.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys guest interaction and wants to grow within a hospitality team that values cross-training and long-term development.

Phase One: Front Desk Attendant (Immediate Start)

In your initial phase, you will serve as the first and lasting impression of The Douglas. This role blends traditional front desk responsibilities with personalized guest service. You will manage check-ins and check-outs, respond to guest inquiries, coordinate with housekeeping and bar staff, and help shape the rhythm of each guest’s stay.

You are calm under pressure, naturally warm, and attentive to detail. You anticipate needs, solve problems thoughtfully, and understand that hospitality is expressed in both small gestures and consistent follow-through.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests with clarity and warmth
  • Managing reservations and guest communication through our property management system
  • Coordinating room readiness and special requests
  • Offering thoughtful local recommendations and assisting with arrangements
  • Maintaining accurate guest records and internal shift logs
  • Assisting with luggage and light room inspections when needed
