A Service Technician provides Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Assessment to public school districts in southern California. As a service technician, you will visit approximately 7 school site kitchens per day. At each service call you will assess the food safety and sanitation of the operation, as well as train the staff on predetermined food safety and sanitation topics. In addition, the service technician will maintain the inventory levels at each site from their company provided vehicle. All visits are done in one geographical location each day. Every day may be in a different geographical location in Los Angeles, Kern, Ventura, or San Bernardino Counties with potential days in other southern California counties. The Service technician is required to document their service calls electronically. This position is a full-time 10-month position, starting in early-August through early-June. The day starts between 5 and 6 AM, and is usually completed by 2 PM. The calendar is similar to a traditional school calendar, with workdays being Monday through Friday, and 10 paid holidays during this 10-month period. - High School degree is required.
- 1+ years’ experience in food service. Current ServSafe certification or ability to pass certification.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organization and time management skills, ability to work well with people and serve as an effective professional representative of the company.
- Ability to wear proper attire and adhere to grooming per California Retail Food Code and Company policy is required.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and good driving record. All technicians must pass drug testing and pass fingerprinting background check as required by California School Districts.
- Proficiency in the following software or systems: MS Office, Tablets and Apps, general computing.
- Spanish bilingual speaking ability is a plus.
- Physical capabilities: Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis, ability to walk distances and climb stairs.
We are looking for this position to start as soon as possible upon hire. We are looking for a candidate residing in the San Fernando Valley or surrounding areas. May require future occasional overnight travel. The company is headquartered in Tustin, CA.
