Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the Finance Department with daily accounting and administrative tasks. This role requires strong Excel skills, good computer proficiency, and a basic understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable working with numbers and financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting and finance operations
  • Maintain and update financial records and spreadsheets
  • Prepare reports using Excel (tracking expenses, invoices, AR/AP, reconciliations, etc.)
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy
  • Assist with data entry into accounting and internal systems
  • Organize financial files and documentation (digital and physical)
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (AP, AR, general ledger)
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, filters, pivot tables preferred)
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data systems)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role
  • Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar – a plus)
