Company: Inn at Taughannock Falls

The Inn at Taughannock Falls, outside of Ithaca, NY, has just built a multi-million dollar event center which debuts this year. This stunning space will be able to hold 300 guests for seated dinner and up to 500 guests for cocktail reception style events. This venue is the only one of its kind in the region, featuring a 100’ x 60’ sailcloth tent, customizable lighting package, multiple fire features including a two-story dry stack, stone fireplace, and an outdoor plating kitchen.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Event Assistant to join our team and assist in organizing memorable events. The ideal candidate will support event planning and execution, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

This is an excellent position for someone looking to learn more about event management. This program operates as a training program for later full-time Event Planner positions and promotions. No experience is required, and we emphasize that this is an excellent apprentice style program.

Duties:

– Collaborate with event planners to organize and execute various types of events
– Assist in coordinating event logistics, including venue setup, catering, and audiovisual requirements
– Assist in on-site event management to ensure everything runs smoothly

As part of learning event management at the Inn, the selected candidate will train under the Event Operations Manager and learn about the event planning position. Additionally, they will get on-the-ground experience working as a bridal attendant and production specialist during the 2026 season of events. This will include direct client interfacing, as well as assisting event and banquet management, and performing set-up and breakdown functions.

Skills:

– Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
– Proficient in time management to meet deadlines effectively
-Use of Microsoft Office & Google Suite, as well as professional computer skills
-Customer service, and professional conduct

Job Logistics:

-Anticipated Start Date April 6th

-30 days of part time training, escalating to full time work in May

-Focus of employment calendar is April through November; with a great season and with showing aptitude the next step in the career progression would be promotion to full time event planner.
