Full-time position available with the Office of the City Manager, Office of Emergency Management located at 635 Woodland Ave
Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours :Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m-5:00 p.m.; may work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary.

Responsibilities
- Manages daily office operations and supports program administration for a complex emergency management program.
- Leads budget development, financial tracking, accounts payable/receivable, data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
- Prepares and manages grants from application through closeout.
- Supports maintenance of EOC equipment and supplies.
- Coordinates financial recovery activities following incidents.
- Leads education, volunteer, and public outreach initiatives.
- Delivers emergency preparedness training and maintaining citywide emergency management training records.
- Coordinates NIMS compliance with City departments.
- Designs and conducts HSEEP compliant exercises for local, regional, and state partners to support regulatory and grant requirements and overall operational readiness.
- Serves as a liaison with governmental agencies, community organizations, schools, businesses, and the public, representing the Kansas City Office of Emergency Management.
- Supports NIMS compliance and functional needs initiatives.
- Manages related training and outreach programs.
- Participates in the rotational duty officer program. The duty officer is responsible for monitoring local conditions, activating the EOC as necessary, answering the duty officer hotline 24/7, and coordinating the EOC role in response operations. Duty is rotated on a weekly basis.
- Performs additional emergency management duties as assigned.
