Full job description

Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories. They read blueprints, use testing devices to troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code and local building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation: Set up and install wiring, control, and lighting systems. Assemble and install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, circuit-breaker panels, and conduits).
  • Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance to inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and old wiring to prevent system breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices (like multimeters) to identify hazards and replace or repair damaged components.
  • Compliance: Follow state and local building regulations, as well as the National Electrical Code, to ensure all systems are safe and up to standard.

Essential Requirements

  • Education & Training: Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or an associate’s degree from a technical college. Journeyman or Master Electrician licenses are highly preferred or legally required depending on the jurisdiction.
  • Physical Capabilities: Stamina to stand, bend, and move around installation sites all day, along with the ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). Excellent manual dexterity and color vision are crucial to distinguish electrical wires.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Good customer service and communication skills are needed when working directly with clients.

Pay: AED1,500.00 – AED2,000.00 per month
