Job Summary
Kilowatt Electric is hiring a skilled Electrician with experience in residential and light commercial work, including service, renovations, and new construction.
This position offers a variety of work — not just service calls. We are looking for a well-rounded electrician who can troubleshoot, install, and work on projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in residential and commercial settings, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify faults quickly.
- Work on construction sites to install wiring for new buildings or renovations while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for industrial or specialized electrical applications.
- Collaborate with construction teams on framing carpentry and handyman tasks as needed to support project completion.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously, including working with high voltage and low voltage systems safely while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise installation according to project specifications.
- Assist in renovation projects by updating or replacing outdated electrical systems with modern solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for project documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings; industrial electrician experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical work.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety procedures related to high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is desirable.
- Knowledge of renovation processes including framing carpentry and handyman skills beneficial for integrated project tasks.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by local regulations; ongoing professional development preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with strong attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team effectively.
