ELECTION WORKER TRAINING SUPPORT

This team of three is responsible for training, retaining, and supporting close to 1,000 election day workers to run polling sites throughout the county on election day. Team members must be able to interact with individuals from various backgrounds, as well as those with various learning styles.

Customer Service Duties Include:

  • Serve as primary contact for election day workers, assist with election day assignments, training class schedules, reminders, and special requests
  • Answer phone calls from the election worker hotline with professional, friendly, and effective communication skills
  • Facilitate teamwork between election workers
  • Identify and report difficulties or concerns to the Election Day Manager
  • Foster and maintain a sense of pride and belonging among election day workers

Administrative and Training Duties Include:

  • Assist election day workers with scheduling, polling locations changes, and required training classes
  • Train election workers
  • Attend and assist with election day worker training classes when not teaching
  • Input and update databases that will support reports from 3 different platforms
  • Coordinate polling location teams to ensure all positions are filled and diverse
  • Seek opportunities to recruit new election day workers

Work is primarily done in an office setting. Most of the time will be spent on the phone and in a classroom training environment. You must be comfortable learning new computer hardware and software, including voting machines, electronic pollbooks, and the Florida Voter Registration System.

Patience, diligence and people-focused is the motto for this team. Training election day workers gives them the skills, materials, and confidence they need to conduct orderly, professional, and accurate elections, which ensures a positive experience for voters.
