Job Description :-The Driver cum Storekeeper is responsible for the safe transportation of goods, materials, and personnel while also managing warehouse/store operations. The role includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory records to ensure efficient stock control and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving Duties
- Safely transport goods, equipment, and staff as assigned.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Load and unload goods while ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure all required documents (license, registration, insurance) are valid.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel consumption reports.
Storekeeping Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Store materials systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
- Issue materials based on authorized requisitions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized inventory systems.
- Conduct regular stock counts and participate in periodic inventory audits.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management when replenishment is required.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Label and organize inventory for efficient access.
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain records of stock receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Maintain delivery notes, gate passes, and transport documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driving license appropriate for the vehicle category.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in driving and/or storekeeping.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and inventory software are an advantage).
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack or forklift) is an added advantage.
