About Us: At Hotel Bark Ave, we are dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Located in the heart of New York City, we offer premium boarding, daycare, and grooming services for our pack. Our facility is crate and kennel-free, meaning we maintain dedicated handlers on-site 24/7 to ensure the safety and comfort of every guest. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us provide the highest level of care in a cage-free, high-energy environment.

Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated Dog Handlers to join our team. You will play a crucial role in managing the “Pawty” , ensuring the well-being of our canine guests, and maintaining the high operational standards of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Supervision: Manage dog interactions in a crate-free group setting to prevent conflicts and ensure positive play.
  • Safety & Health: Follow strict feeding and medication protocols ; monitor guests for any dietary sensitivities or health changes.
  • Digital Check-Ins: Assist clients with our digital check-in/out system and monitor attendance via mobile credentials.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain a “Grade A” clean and sanitary environment by following rigorous hygiene standards.
  • Client Communication: Provide pet owners with professional updates on their dog’s behavior and stay activities.
  • Operational Support: Assist with “Transpawtation” logistics and prep as needed.

Requirements:

  • Professional Experience: Prior experience in a professional pet care setting (daycare, boarding, or grooming) is preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50lbs, handle dogs of all sizes and maintain high energy levels during shifts.
  • Technical Savvy: Comfortable using Google suite, mobile apps, and QR-based systems for client check-ins.
  • Reliability: Must be available for a variety of shifts, including Howlidays (our peak periods).
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain composed in a high-volume, free-roaming dog environment.
