Job Description


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document Controller to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Document Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our organization’s documentation systems, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with company standards.

  • Coordinate all activities related to document control procedures, including technical documents, drawings, and commercial correspondence
  • Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) from various departments and subcontractors
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date document registers and databases
  • Generate daily and weekly status reports on document control activities
  • Ensure proper filing and storage of documents in specific locations with clear indexing and summaries
  • Distribute controlled copies of latest approved documents and drawings to appropriate staff, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Implement and maintain a robust system for document traceability and retrieval
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely document reviews and approvals
  • Assist in the development and improvement of document control processes and procedures
  • Provide support in document-related queries and requests from internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field; additional qualifications in document management or related fields are a plus
  • Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably in the construction or engineering industry
  • Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of document control procedures and best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in handling technical documents, drawings, and correspondence
  • Familiarity with RFI processes and tracking systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong data entry and typing skills with high accuracy
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities
  • Knowledge of construction or engineering industry terminology is advantageous
