Overview:
Open to Current Community Transit Term Limited Dispatchers Only
Posting Open Until May 9th at 11:59 p.m
As a Dispatcher, you will ensure safe and reliable service throughout our service area by dispatching and scheduling vehicles, coordinating vehicles in the yard, and communicating by radio with coach operators and their vehicles. You will need to perform duties in any of the following Dispatcher roles:
- Window Dispatcher
- Radio Dispatcher
- Yard Dispatcher
Essential Duties:
All Dispatch Assignments:
- Enter data into computer. Communicate with employees by email in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Respond to operator questions about routes and assignments. Explain relevant procedures.
- Stay current on all department procedures. Understand and apply rules and guidelines fairly and consistently.
- Facilitate inter- and intra-agency communications.
- Provide input to management.
- Retrieve DVR footage, transfer footage to other mediums, and accurately log tape pull requests.
- Open Mobile Operations Center when required.
Window Dispatcher Assignment:
- Fill open work needs by assessing the quantity of work needing coverage and matching with available staff.
- Monitor sign-in terminal and document attendance infractions. Complete and submit absence data to the scheduling system.
- Prepare for staff shortages as they occur for service coverage and change start-time calls for the next day.
- Receive and relay board and overtime schedules to coach operators by phone.
- Distribute mail and other company documents to coach operators.
- Control distribution of relief driver keys.
- Inspect and ensure operator uniform standards are met.
- Receive, log and prepare lost and found items for delivery to the Ride Store.
