Job Title: DISHWASHER
The position is full-time 30-40 hours per week, permanent with an hourly rate of $17.50. Overtime may be necessary as required paid at time and half. The position may work night shift; there is a shift premium when scheduled to work night shifts as a Night Cleaner.
Job duties:
Wash chinaware and glassware in the dishwasher
Sort and wash all cutlery
Proper storing of all cutlery and china in appropriate places
Proper use and storage of chemicals
Keep area clean at all times – e.g., sweep and mop as needed
Ensure handling of tableware is safe to reduce breakage
Wash all pots and properly store them
Report all safety hazards and reduce accidents
Setting up event function requests – e.g., plate orders, chaffing dishes
Maintain strong interdepartmental communication with kitchen and service teams
Other duties as assigned
Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:
Previous experience an asset, but not required
Dynamic, enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions
Must be highly Health and Safety conscious, dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment
Must be a team-player
Ability to work shiftwork
Must be able to handle a variety of tasks at one time, using good organizational skills
Physical Demands:
Stand for long periods (6–10+ hours per shift)
Walk frequently between kitchen, dish area, and storage spaces
Perform repetitive tasks (scrubbing, rinsing, loading/unloading dish machines)
Lift and carry heavy items (pots, pans, trays, racks of dishes, garbage bags)
Push/pull loaded dish racks and carts
Bend, twist, and reach (including overhead shelving and low storage)
Work in a hot, humid environment (steam from industrial dishwashers)
Handle constant exposure to water, detergents, and cleaning chemicals
Work quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume setting (especially during peak dining times, banquets, or events)
